I was born in Athens in 1952. I am a contemporary jewelry maker and also a researcher in ancient goldsmithing techniques of the Aegean region. After my diploma in economics (ASOEE) I was trained as a jeweller and a silversmith, studying next to distinguished craftsmen. I have studied gemmology (1982-1986) and attended gemology courses in Hattgenstein, Germany. For 15 years (1989-2005) I was the designer for ONAR .S.A. (jewelry and object company). I am a menber of the Greek Chamber of Fine Arts. Since 2006 I participate in a group of archaeologists studying and researching on three distinct categories: 1. Prehistoric metal technologies of the Aegean region, working at the National Archaeological Mueum of Athens and the Cycladic Museum of Art. 2. Hellenistic goldsmithing techniques at the Benaki Museum of Athens and 3. Minoan sealstone engraving at the University of Heidelberg. I follow a path through emotions, concepts and images. It is an ensemble of elements, powered by memories, experiences and myths. My work is a medium through which I can communicate with other people. I enjoy observing natural structures and studying prehistoric findings from excavations .I admire the natures wisdom and the resourcefulnessof the anonymous prehistoric craftmen ,who only with few tools created master pieces and enigmas . The pieces that I built are three dimensional compositions -objects designed to be worn . Techniques, materials, colors and textures are the language through which I express my self during these journeys of creating.
